The
Municipio de Sabinas is bordered on the North with the Municipio de
Morelos, Allende and Zaragoza; on the south with Juarez and
Progreso; on the east with Villa Union and on the west with San
Juan de Sabinas and Muzquiz.
The
name Coahuila it began in the century XVI, when the Spaniards that arrived
at this territory
found people that called themselves as coahuiltecos. Some historians think that
its name means "snake that flies", "place of many
trees" and others indicate that means "the place where the snakes
dragged themselves".
"Coatl" whose meaning is snake and "Huiliana" to be dragged
or "Quauitl" whose meaning is tree and "la" abundance.
The
most important festival of Sabinas is celebrated during the third
week of September with agriculture and industrial exhibitions and
regional dances. Every year during September, Sabinas celebrates the
anniversary of the founding of the city with a parade which includes
thousands of horsemen and hundreds of carts.
We went to Sabinas
Coahuila, Mexico on June. This church contacted us
through our website. We want to give thanks to the
congregation of Pastor Ismael Martinez for giving us the opportunity
of meeting such wonderful people and being an instrument of
blessing. This time our Son Daniel went with us and God used
him to touch other children through his gift and with his
drums! Mike Owen, a very good brother in Christ and a member
of our home church (Grace
International, in Willis Texas) went with us also. He was
a terrific blessing for the people of Coahuila. Language was
not an obstacle for him and he discover that it only takes for us to
be willing and available in order for God to use us. Our word
for you today is "place yourself in the right position, ready
to be used by Jesus. Do not think on your condition....think
in God's mighty power and grace"
Rev. Ismael Martinez is the

We held a marriage seminar
and a praise and worship service. They were ready to receive
the Word of God and the gift of life Jesus had in storage for them.
God is using our families in order to reach others for His glory.
God performed
miracles and
brought salvation. We will come back again this December, in order
to visit different nursing homes and orphanages. Please be praying
for this event and consider helping us through your finances and
time.
